How can I check and change my credit limit?
You can check and change your credit limit without any charge and at any time with the following ways:
- Call *136# and follow the instructions. Through the menu you will be able to check your credit limit, check the remaining balance of your current credit limit and also change that limit
- Send an SMS to 8555
- To check your credit limit send Limit to 8555
- To check your remaining balance of your current credit limit send Balance to 8555
- To change your credit limit send Change to and your new credit limit to 8555
- For information on the service send Info to 8555
The subscribers will be able to apply any credit limit with 1 euro step (€11, €12, €13, €14 etc.). Subscribers cannot change their limit with decimal value – e.g. €11.50 or €20.45.
If I exceed my credit limit can I still use my line?
You can continue using your line if you wish for it, even when you exceed your credit limit. All you need to do is top-up your account with airtime or SMS top-up cards. To find out your available balance after your top-up, call 2020 or *202# or MTN Call Center at 136.

Terms & Conditions
- The scheme applies to New or/and Port in numbers to any 18 months MTN PayMonthly and UP2U contract and for any 12months or/and 24months Mobile Broadband contracts
- The subscribers can benefit from a discount on their monthly invoice. The discount is determined by the minimum period of the subscription contract
- The present terms and conditions apply supplementary to the terms and conditions of the subscription contract
- If the Customer wishes to disconnect from MTN’s network prior to the expiration of the Minimum Period, the Customer shall pay the amount of €45 as Administration Termination Fee and shall be required to settle all outstanding charges and fees until the disconnection of the line.

*Example of the maximum credit limit of an existing subscriber: If the 4 most recent invoices of an existing subscriber were: €120, €165, €240 and €170, then their average amount is multiplied by 2 to give us the new credit limit of the specific subscriber,
i.e. [(€120 + €165 + €240 + €170) : 4] Χ 2 = €347.50.

2) “New subscriber” is considered the subscriber whose line has not yet completed 4 calendar months since the activation of his/her line.
